Dear Friends,

We talked about Cosmic Forces in past postings.
As per posting 己丑年 (Ji Chou Year) : 2009, Year of Ox :
……….己丑年 (Ji Chou Year) is governed by the main cosmic force of
- Lesser Earth (dampness), accompanied by
- Damp Earth + Cold Water as two additional major sub-forces.
As a result, it will create an umbrella environment of Coldness and Wetness (Dampness).
As Ji-Chou Year progresses, it is further subjected to other forces as it passes through the 6 Major-Qi Periods, each consists of 4 Jie-Qi’s (Minor Qi Periods).
So what type of health issues will face a higher risk during Ji-Chou Year ?
1. Overall throughout the year :
- diarrhea, abdominal pain/distention, body feel heavy, muscle weakness/fatigue, general edema, feel cold, sudden pain just under middle of chest (and both sides of trunk), numbness in the chest, low appetite, like to sigh, prone to anger.
2. Over the 6 Major Qi Periods :
a. 1st Major Qi Period : Jan 20 to Mar 20 :
- risk of stroke, mood swings, stiffness of tendons in the 4 limbs, dull joints, heaviness feel of the body and muscle weakness.
b. 2nd Major Qi Period : Mar 20 to May 21 :
- risk of epidemics, acne on upper body, physically and psychologically at a higher octane level
c. 3rd major Qi period : May 21 to July 23 :
- heaviness feel of the body, general edema, distention in chest and abdomen
d. 4th Major Qi period : July 23 to Sept 23 :
- feel heaty in the skin, hemorrhage, malaria-type sickness, distention of chest and abdomen with heat (with edema for more severe cases)
e. 5th Major Qi Period : Sept 23 to Nov 22 :
- skin diseases
f. 6th Major Qi Period : Nov 22 to ard Jan 22, 2010 :
- stiff joints, lumbar area pain
As per posting Your Personal Cosmic Orientation, those whose PCOs resonate more with this year’s Cosmic Forces will be more prone to above health issues, all else being equal.
Stay healthy.

Aiyoh…! Due to all the many hours toiling around my house on Sats, I already feeling most of your descriptions above about the body ache & skin problems. No need to wait till the different time periods!
I seemed to get some satisfaction of putting energy to good purpose- keeping my house clean. Instead of going gym & home exercises, I find it fulfilling to exert those muscles on housework & even took to running around the house to work faster, to give my legs some exercise too, apart from the arms. Last Sat, I just clocked up 10 hrs of housework & muscles were toned & aching, even till now. I believe I’ll get use to it after some more sessions.
Don’t worry, I’ve the telephone number of the hourly cleaner at hand, just in case, I got tired of it all. Felt so good, keeping one’s own home clean!

Just caught one case of influenza type B in a client from HK who came to Tokyo on business yesterday. Although the shortest incubation period for influenza could be 24 hrs, I have a feeling he did not catch the virus in Japan but got it before he boarded the plane here, so I assume the virus is hanging out in HK. Beware!
Xy2,
Ooops, I’m in your list of yrs! So, the remedy is…..exercise the acupoints, drink your recommended herbal drink, strengthen my middle Qi……
Thanks, will see how to scale down….
yl,
take regularly congee soup made of
50 g of 薏仁 (Chinese pearl barley)
50 g of 芡实 (seeds of euryale ferox, “water lily”)
plus
5 pieces of red dates,
1 piece of dried mandarin skin.
Thanks XY2!
I can bring this prescription to the Chinese Medical Hall & get them to pack this concoction for me right?
The final product after brewing, put in sugar or salt?
